THE ZMED BROTHERS

Zachary and Dylan Zmed are an Americana brother duo rooted in the tradition of blood-harmony singing. Originally from California’s San Fernando Valley and now based in Middle Tennessee, the brothers carry forward the lineage of American roots music with a sound defined by authenticity, musicianship, and unmistakable sibling chemistry.

From 2007–2015, the Zmed Brothers wrote, sang, and performed as members of The Janks, a Los Angeles–based indie folk-rock band known for its punk energy and Americana storytelling within the late-2000s DIY scene. Between 2012 and 2015, they built a dedicated following as a duo in Los Angeles performing original music alongside classic American repertoire. During this period, they won Best Country Song at the Global Peace Awards and performed with acclaimed songwriter Billy Steinberg (co-writer of Like a Virgin, True Colors, and Eternal Flame).

Over the years, they have shared stages with artists including Michael Martin Murphey, Michael McDonald, Ambrosia, Dawes, The Alan Parsons Project, Player, The Young Dubliners, Fishbone, Sia, Kings of Leon, and Chevy Metal.

In 2015, the brothers created The Everly Brothers Experience, a tribute dedicated to preserving the legacy of Don and Phil Everly. The show features Everly classics alongside original songs and a curated selection of mid-20th-century American standards spanning country, blues, gospel, and early rock ’n’ roll—performed in their signature blood-harmony style.

In 2025, The Zmed Brothers premiered Honky Tonk Harmonies, a full-stage production exploring the history and evolution of honky-tonk music through narrative, archival context, and original compositions. That same year, they launched the Blood Harmony Americana Series, an ongoing collection of stripped-down performances highlighting the depth and character of classic American songwriting, and released their roots-driven Christmas album, Yuletide Hayride.

Looking ahead, The Zmed Brothers remain committed to continuously releasing original music while expanding their artistic presence in Nashville’s “Big Backyard,” cultivating a home for harmony-driven Americana and American roots storytelling.

They perform nationally and internationally as The Zmed Brothers, The Everly Brothers Experience, and through a growing slate of original and thematic projects.
